What Are Your Dreams?

DREAM. This is the message I received written on the rock pictured here that was lovingly given to me by a fellow classmate at the close of a week-long retreat we attended last month. As soon as I saw and held this rock, my first reaction was to say to myself, “What does this mean? What does it mean to dream?”….  “Are you kidding,” my astonished inner voice exclaimed, “you mean I don’t know?!”

As a child, dreaming was second nature. Teacher, singer, movie star, Wonder Woman, I dreamed I could be anything I wanted to be. So, what changed between then and now?

Why did I allow myself to forget to dream or to put my dreams in a box? Fear of the disapproval from family and friends. Guilt my dreams would take me out of the role I was supposed to play in traditional societal expectations. Lack of self-confidence and love for myself to create, expand, and go after my dreams with passion and enthusiasm. All of these and more kept me in the box along with my dreams.

I share this rock with you now and invite you to take some time in contemplation to DREAM. Really DREAM. Without boundaries, rules or limitations… without fear, self-criticism or worry. Take your dreams out of the box and set them free. Expand on your dreams and create new ones. Flow in the inspiration, energy and happiness of your dreams and live the way they make you feel in all of your thoughts, words and actions. As children, it can be easier to believe anything is possible. As adults, we can too if we make the conscious choice to do so with every fiber of our being.

With Love, Light, and Gratitude,
Sandy
